Windstone Capital Partners Completes $20 Million Equity Raise for Green Energy Company

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Windstone Capital Partners, Inc., a southwest regional Investment Bank, today announced completion of a $20 Million Series A Equity Financing for its client, Energy and Power Solutions, Inc. ("EPS"), a clean tech Costa Mesa, California based company. The funds will be used by EPS to rapidly expand its business, which reduces greenhouse-gas emissions, a key factor in Global Warming. EPS customers include, Tyco, UPS, Miller Beer and Dean Foods, which sells dairy products through Wal-Mart of Bentonville, Arkansas.
Windstone Capital Partners acted as the exclusive financial advisor on the transaction and succeeded by thoroughly understanding each aspect of the opportunity. "When we first were introduced to EPS," says Norman C. Clarke, Senior Managing Partner at Windstone, "they had hopes of only raising upwards of $6 million in debt. We focused on their core capabilities, industry trends and the investing environment and concluded it was possible to raise a great deal more capital then EPS had envisioned, in a much better structure."
The investment was provided by California based private equity fund, NGEN, and Robeco Groep, N.V., a fund located out of Rotterdam, The Netherlands. "We were able to garner good exposure for our client," says Kevin R. Loud, Senior Managing Partner at Windstone, "because it was a good opportunity and, it was presented effectively." EPS used Windstone as an extension of their internal finance group, and as such, were able to assist them with their business plan, growth model and negotiations of the overall transaction.
