ASHEVILLE, N.C., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Deltec Homes recently launched one of the largest solar panel installations in North Carolina, investing nearly half a million dollars toward sustainable renovations in their Asheville-based offices and manufacturing facility. The project features the installation of 273 photovoltaic modules (55kW power capacity) and the latest energy-efficient fluorescent lighting. By the end of 2007, Deltec will be using 100% renewable power to produce its homes.

The burgeoning growth of the green building industry places greater responsibility on homebuilders to provide the absolute best product with the lowest overall energy footprint. The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) reports that by the end of 2007, more than half their members, who build more than 80 percent of homes nationwide will incorporate green practices into new home design and construction. Deltec has been building circular-style sustainable homes for nearly 40 years. Currently the sole manufacturer of panelized homes using onsite solar energy, the company is living its philosophy.
