MORRISTOWN, N.J., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Core Services is looking forward to participating in a variety of community events in 2008. Core Services CEO and President James Bistis knows that many companies are anxious to assist the community but don't know where to start. "I've found as a mid-size business owner, I enjoy getting involved in local events that have a direct impact on my community and the communities of our employees and clients," explains Bistis. "We have been fortunate enough to be involved in multiple events throughout the country, and we will continue to expand our philanthropic involvement as our employees become involved in even more diverse giving campaigns."

Bistis understands that some mid-size business owners feel they simply cannot make the high impact on charities like many larger companies that donate hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars. "Any activity that helps individuals or a community is worth the time and effort, even if it does not seem like a large contribution," says Bistis. "Getting employees involved in activities outside of work is good for the community, and great for company morale." Bistis concludes, "Regardless if it's a monetary donation, charitable event or individual volunteering -- it is a worthwhile contribution."

On March 24th, 2007, Core Services sponsored and hosted clients at the Starlight Gala, Houston's largest young professional American Cancer Society fundraiser. With over 400 guests attending, this year's event became the most successful fundraising evening in the Starlight Gala's history. "This event has become incredibly important to me, and the Core Services family," says Jennifer Lasida, Director of Marketing for Core Services. "Just about all of us know someone who has been touched, or have been touched ourselves, by cancer." Lasida will continue her involvement in the Starlight Gala's event planning. "I am looking forward to working on the Starlight event on March 29th, 2008."

Another Gulf Coast program that Core Services supports is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR). As a sponsor of multiple events over the last four years, Core's participation in the rodeo has supported fundraising for local scholarships. Today, the Show's mission is defined by the thousands of young people who annually receive financial support from the HLSR organization. Since the scholarship and educational program began, more than $220 million has benefited Texas students. In the Fall of 2007, 2,022 students were enrolled at 88 Texas colleges and universities on direct Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarships.

Last October Core Services participated in two separate California YMCA charity golf events. Keith Inouye, Core Services Vice President of Sales and a board member of the Presidio Community YMCA of San Francisco, helped Core become a charity golf event sponsor and was joined by Core Services CEO, James Bistis and West Coast Sales Director, Danny Booher to play in the charity golf event that benefited local after-school programs for under-privileged children. Core Services also sponsored and participated in a golf tournament benefiting the children of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, one of Core Services' newest clients.

Also in October of 2007, Core Services supported the Far Hills Race Meeting Association's Annual Steeplechase Races held at Moreland Farms in Far Hills, NJ. As a corporate sponsor, Core annually raises money for this traditional steeplechase event benefiting the Somerset Medical Center Foundation. Employees, their families and several customers enjoyed this year's amazing spring-like conditions and festive atmosphere. Core Services will continue to be an active sponsor in 2008 at this 87-year-old fundraising event.
