VAIL, CO – Consistent with its commitment for the last 13 years, the Sprint Charity Golf Classic will donate more than $100,000 to nonprofit organizations throughout the country, bringing the grand total raised since its inception in 1989 to $1.4 million. The private event will be held on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail, Colo.

“The Sprint Charity Golf Classic is our most sustainable charitable event of the year,” said Gary D. Forsee, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Sprint. “We’re pleased we’ve been able to continually raise funds for those charitable organizations that have a direct impact on our communities throughout the nation.”

Tournament participants who place in the Sprint Charity Golf Classic select the nonprofit organization of their choice to receive a donation from Sprint. Tournament organizers believe allowing golfers to choose the benefactor provides strong motivation for golfers to participate and win the tournament.
