WASHINGTON, D.C. - August 13, 2008 - Sandra E. Taylor, president and chief executive officer of Sustainable Business International LLC, today joined APCO Worldwide’s International Advisory Council (IAC), Margery Kraus, president and chief executive officer, announced.

Taylor brings to APCO expertise in corporate responsibility combined with her strong background in corporate governance. She also has an extensive background in human rights, issue management, public policy and international trade.

"When it comes to corporate responsibility and strategic philanthropy, Sandra is one of the foremost leaders in these practices," said Kraus. "Her vast experience in developing innovative corporate responsibility strategies will be invaluable to our clients and this insight adds yet another dimension to our IAC."

From 2003 until 2008, Taylor was senior vice president of corporate social responsibility for Starbucks Coffee Company. At Starbucks she led the strategic development and day-to-day direction of all corporate responsibility programs, including: community affairs, the Starbucks Foundation and support for disaster relief; development of responsible and sustainable standards for business practices and product procurement; management of programs to reduce the environmental impact of business operations; public policy and government relations; and the publication of the company's award-winning corporate responsibility annual report. She also led social investment programs for education, health, income generation, skills training and access to water in Central America, India and Africa.

Taylor served as vice president and director of public affairs for Eastman Kodak Company from 1996 until 2003. As a corporate officer, she had overall responsibility for public affairs, international trade policy and corporate citizenship worldwide. Taylor provided leadership for the company's federal, state local and international government relations, managed Kodak's Washington, D.C., government affairs office, and established policy for government relations outside the United States.

Taylor's government experience includes her work as a legislative assistant in the U.S. Senate and a foreign service officer for the U.S. Department of State. She is on the board of directors of Capella Education Company and nonprofits such as the Intiman Theatre of Seattle, National Center for Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, Counterpart International and the Women's Leadership Board of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She is co-chair and founder of the American and African Businesswomen's Alliance and a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy.
