SAN MATEO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/21/08 -- Glenborough, LLC, a San Mateo, CA, real estate investment and management company specializing in office properties, is pleased to announce several special events at several of its Class A commercial properties in observance of Earth Day 2008.
The day will begin when morning breaks at 1525 Wilson Boulevard -- a 313,000 square foot Class A office building in Arlington, VA, which will host a special event focused on recent building improvements and methods anyone can use to decrease their environmental impact through simple, practical steps. The event itself will serve as an object lesson, emphasizing Green Building Awareness and providing near-paperless information dissemination. Commercial janitorial and rubbish hauling vendors will discuss and provide advice on recycling and waste reduction. Electrical vendors will explain the building's upcoming $53,000 lighting retrofit and mass-relamping project, which is projected to pay for itself through energy savings within 15 months of installation.
As the sun turns its attention to the West coast, two more Glenborough properties will join the festivities. At 400 South Camino Real in San Mateo, CA, several key suppliers and partners including ISS Janitorial, Allied Waste Recycling, Light-Source and the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance will provide presentations and literature about recycling, green cleaning, alternative lighting technologies and energy conservation. Glenborough representatives will also be on hand sharing information about the company's conservation programs and energy cogeneration systems.
Rounding out the day, The Aventine -- Glenborough's landmark 240,000 square foot commercial center in San Diego, CA -- will host numerous tenant activities focusing on green practices within the building, plus tips on how we can all contribute to planet-saving habits at home. Complimentary food will be provided and presentations will be made by several key building partners including Light-Source, Waxie, ABM Janitorial, Howard's Rugs and Dunn Edwards Paint. Glenborough representatives will showcase the building's most recent capital projects designed to reduce energy consumption, paper output and water use.
