- May 6, 2009 - Occidental Petroleum Corporation’s (Oxy's) 2008 Social Responsibility Report outlines policies that shape Oxy's approach to social responsibility, and highlights 2008 achievements and programs in the areas of corporate governance; health, environment and safety (HES); economic impact; labor practices; human rights; and stakeholder engagement.

Oxy has further enhanced its reporting on social responsibility and HES activities for 2008, guided by the sustainability reporting indicators published by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the American Petroleum Institute and International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (API/IPIECA).
