WASHINGTON, D.C. - October 29, 2008 - Clear Standards (www.clearstandards.com), a leading provider of enterprise carbon management and sustainability solutions, added Jim Sullivan to its executive team. Mr. Sullivan is the former Director of the U.S. EPA Climate Leaders program, and is one of the world's foremost experts on greenhouse gas inventories and policies to combat climate change. As Vice President of Advisory Services, Jim will help Clear Standards’ customers and partners understand and employ technology solutions to manage carbon emissions across their business operations.

"Throughout my eight years at the EPA, focusing on climate change issues, I have seen carbon management become a strategic corporate imperative," said Jim Sullivan. "I decided to join Clear Standards because in my estimation, they have the most comprehensive solution available to help even the largest, global organizations address all aspects of carbon management."

Jim is both a technical and policy expert in climate change. He was a lead author of the 2002 U.S. Climate Action Report and an expert reviewer of the European Union's climate policy. His experience managing successful voluntary programs allowed him to play a role in shaping initial drafts of the U.S. EPA mandatory emissions reporting guidelines, expected to be released next year as the standard by which many U.S. companies will be required to track and report their carbon emissions.

While at the EPA, Jim not only educated and advised many Fortune 500 companies on their carbon management strategies, but also personally helped them develop corporate-wide greenhouse gas inventories, credibly report emissions, and set aggressive reduction goals. Jim will help ensure that the Clear Standards solution fully supports the sustainability requirements of large, global corporations whose needs he understands first-hand. Jim will also serve as a strategic advisor to Clear Standards customers and partners, helping them attain a tangible return on investment from carbon management initiatives.

"IBM worked with Jim in his capacity as Director of the U.S. EPA Climate Leaders program, for which IBM was a charter member. Jim was a strong advocate of industry efforts to implement meaningful, verifiable energy efficiency and GHG emissions reduction programs," said Edan Dionne, Director, Corporate Environmental Affairs IBM. "Jim's leadership in supporting member companies to develop their GHG management systems contributed significantly to expanding the industry’s response to today's climate change challenge."

"We are very excited to have Jim as a part of our executive team," said Anirban Chakrabarti, CEO and Co-Founder of Clear Standards. "Jim's in-depth knowledge and experience working directly with large global companies to manage carbon as an executive-level issue strengthens the Clear Standards mission to be the definitive leader in enterprise carbon management solutions."

Prior to the EPA, Jim worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom as an environmental specialist focusing on environmental litigation, corporate due diligence, and regulatory issues for a variety of Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of Brown University and holds a Masters of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
