NEW YORK, July 14, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- LeadDog Marketing Group, an independent, award-winning marketing agency specializing in brand promotions, events, grassroots, experiential and cause-related marketing, has announced the launch of GreenDog ( http://www.GreenDogStory.com). GreenDog is a new division of the agency focusing on socially and environmentally conscious brands. Current clients include Better Homes & Gardens' 15-market "Living Green Tour" (http://bhg.com/livinggreen) and GoodBelly ( http://www.goodbelly.com), a new probiotic fruit drink created by organic and natural products pioneer Steve Demos, founder and creator of Silk(R) soymilk brand. GreenDog is also working hand in hand with LeadDog Marketing Group, advising on strategic partnerships and sourcing green event options for the New York City Department of Transportation's "Summer Streets" (http://www.nyc.gov/), an inaugural program, part of New York's sustainability and public health agenda, that will temporarily close off the traffic along Park Avenue and connecting streets on three Saturdays in August, in order to allow New Yorkers the opportunity to re-imagine the way they use their streets and raise the profile of green transportation in New York City.

Dan Mannix, President and Founder of LeadDog Marketing Group -- named top ten fastest growing agency in the country for 2004-2007 by Promo magazine -- created GreenDog based on agency core competencies, client interests, staff passion and an overall company-wide philosophy of corporate social responsibility built into the LeadDog DNA. As part of demonstrating a true social commitment to new clients and agency spirit around giving back, GreenDog is also implementing 'GreenDog 6', a new policy where 6% of a new client's fees are earmarked for a client's specific not-for-profit cause of choice.

"There are so many socially responsible companies out there that are doing great things and also want to do great things, but lack the support needed to help create, communicate and market their stories effectively, starting with inspiring even their own employees," said Mannix. "We're excited to introduce GreenDog to these companies, so that we can help them craft their messages and navigate their way through a sometimes daunting green space."

As part of the launch, GreenDog is announcing key strategic partners and Managing Directors:

Third-generation Ocean Explorer Fabien Cousteau (www.fabiencousteau.org) has teamed up with GreenDog to advise and consult on key environmental initiatives, and offer unique field perspective for impactful program development. Cousteau, an oceanographer and documentary filmmaker, will also write dispatches and share photos/video from expeditions around the world for GreenDog's blog, which will launch in August.

"Exploration and discovery are only the beginning of the equation of getting our planet back on the right track," said Fabien Cousteau, grandson of legendary Jacques Cousteau. "Other factors, which are extremely important, are making these discoveries known to the world, making them relevant, applicable and priorities to motivate the world. Joining forces with GreenDog helps to round out the equation."
Mannix has tapped Greta Palmer and Laura Leinweber as Managing Directors of GreenDog for their background, relevant industry experience and personal passions. Palmer, a seasoned events producer, has worked at LeadDog Marketing Group for over 4 years, spearheading several high profile events and programs including the Better Homes and Gardens & Green Works Living Green Tour, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Rock & Run on the River, AARP The Magazine Road Show Tour, and Self Magazine's Workout in the Park. Palmer came from the sports marketing world, as a Senior Manager of Events & Entertainment for the National Hockey League, where she co-produced and oversaw local marketing for the League's NHL All-Star Weekend fan events.

Leinweber, a seasoned public relations and communications strategist, most recently spearheaded public relations and corporate communications for Sambazon, an organic food & beverage company that pioneered a sustainable business model around wild harvesting of the Acai berry from the Amazon Rainforest. Leinweber was also a Co-Founder and Vice President of Communications for LIME pr+promotions, a division of kirshenbaum bond & partners.

TechLaw (www.techlawinc.com), environmental consultants for the Environmental Protection Agency for more than 25 years, will act as strategic partner to GreenDog for more advanced environmental consulting and expertise when required. TechLaw's dedicated team of scientists, chemists, biologists, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified specialists and public policy professionals will offer GreenDog clients a wide range of sustainability support services.
