OTTAWA, Dec. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - 'Tis the season where the Champions For Children Foundation and the Children's Aid Society anxiously await the arrival of over 10 000 gifts which make up the majority of our Holiday Gift Program.

With over 100 organizations, schools and individuals participating and showing the size of their hearts - it is truly an awe-inspiring sight.

On Thursday December 11, at 7:45 a.m. Champions will be awaiting the arrival of 45+ vanloads of Ottawa generosity. This represents a donation of approximately 2500 gifts from the Canada Revenue Agency.

"Both the Foundation and the CAS is so fortunate to be able to facilitate such a generous outpouring of community spirit from people who are committed to helping children and families during the holidays - when things can be the hardest" says Kimberley Hogan, Manager of Resource Development for the Foundation.

This is a huge endeavor every year, with over 50 volunteers giving their time over 3 weeks to gather, organize and distribute gifts which go to help children and families who are experiencing hard economic times.

Champions For Children Foundation opens doors to hope and opportunity for children, youth and their families in the Ottawa area. In addition to helping with the Holiday Gift Program, we fund programs that focus on preventing child/youth abuse and neglect and breaking that cycle that so often goes with every generation that follows. CFCF believes the funds raised through donations, holiday gifts-in-kind and fundraising events for the purpose of the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO) prevention programs, will help our children and youth reach their full potential today so that they become strong, vibrant participants in our communities for the future.
