AccountAbility is an international non-profit, membership organisation established in 1995 to promote accountability innovations that advance responsible practices of business, government, civil society and other institutions. Our 200 members include businesses, service providers, NGOs and research bodies, and elect our international Council, which includes representatives from all five continents. AccountAbility has developed the AA1000 Series Sustainability Assurance and Stakeholder Engagement Standards, as well as leading edge research on the governance and accountability of partnerships and links between responsible business practices and the competitiveness of nations. AccountAbility works with its members to help them build alignment between corporate responsibility and business strategy by advancing joint learning and development of analytic tools and benchmarking.
