Description

CSRwire

By leveraging the discipline of engineering and an extensive background in complex technology implementation, Horne International has created a uniquely engineered company.

Since our inception, Horne has become a trusted agent for our government and commercial customers - focused on the defense and homeland security, environment and energy, and transportation sectors.

Horne International's service areas encompass program engineering, technology, environment, safety, & health; acquisition services; public outreach; and business process engineering. These services are provided primarily through our three Horne International business units:

Horne Engineering Services, LLC - our engineering services business unit - has extensive experience in Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security programs such as missile defense, chemical demilitarization, base security, national border security, and a variety of federal construction program integration, management, and quality assurance efforts. Core competencies include engineering, occupational safety and health, environmental sciences, acquisition and procurement, and information technology. This business unit is collocated with our corporate offices in Fairfax, Virginia.

Spectrum Sciences & Software, Inc. — our manufacturing business unit — in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, provides expertise in the area of national defense, with core capabilities in the design and manufacture of aircraft and munitions support equipment.

Coast Engine and Equipment Company, Inc. (CEECO) — our marine business unit — located near Cape Canaveral, Florida, provides specialized fabrication and maintenance services for ships and maritime navigation systems for U.S. ports and waterways, as well as for industrial customers.

The company we have built has a solid base of satisfied customers; valued partnerships with industry leaders; processes for ensuring that we meet our clients’ expectations for quality products and services; a corporate culture that places a premium on integrity and performance, and a workforce of knowledgeable, dedicated people.

Horne International provides technical engineering and technology solutions in the areas of defense and homeland security, environment and energy, and transportation. A trusted agent for our government and commercial customers, Horne is helping advance some of today’s foremost agendas, including winning the war on terrorism, strengthening national security, and fostering environmental sustainability.

At Horne, we link rigorous technical engineering discipline with great skill in mastering highly complex, ultra-critical projects; and we do so with the utmost integrity.

With employees working throughout the United States and overseas, Horne International operates through three business units — Horne Engineering Services, LLC; Spectrum Sciences & Software, Inc.; and Coast Engine and Equipment Company, Inc. — as well as UCH Engineering Limited for international ventures.

Uniquely engineered to solve the seemingly unsolvable…manage the unpredictable…break down technology boundaries…break through communication barriers…and anticipate problems before they impact the mission: That’s the Horne Advantage.

Beyond providing uniquely engineered solutions, we’re also uniquely qualified to get the job done. Our team includes civil, environmental, mechanical, chemical, and software engineers…health and safety specialists… business process experts…and many former high-ranking members of the U.S. military.

At Horne, our work is diverse and complex, and the projects we tackle often present one-of-a-kind challenges. But the common denominator is always a mix of engineering expertise and a relentless commitment to quality, performance, and integrity.

Horne has built a reputation for quality and integrity on a simple credo: Get it done…make it work…do it right. From concept to construction, from design to delivery. Whatever your challenge, you can count on Horne.

That’s the Horne Advantage.

Horne International‘s foundation is built on a company founded by Darryl Horne in 1990. When he opened his one-person shop, his aim was high:

Attract a staff with impeccable credentials
Leverage leading-edge technology into a competitive advantage
over more established firms
Build a company that would stand out by virtue of its high
standards of professional excellence and personal integrity
In recent years, Horne has grown and evolved into a significant player in the federal and commercial contracting arena with the addition of other niche service providers under the Horne International banner — Spectrum Sciences & Software, Inc., and Coast Engine and Equipment Company.

Today, we are one company with a single mission and an entrepreneurial spirit that still drives us forward. What began in 1990 with one person’s vision has become a vibrant organization with a growing reputation as a world-class company that is helping to solve some of the most demanding challenges the U.S. government has ever undertaken.

Our Core Values
While much has changed over the years, one thing remains true to our founding our core values:

Never sacrifice quality and integrity
Build our business and increase shareholder value by pursuing our mission with passion
Conduct ourselves and our business lawfully, ethically, and morally
Do the right thing safely and right the first time
Make the priorities of our clients the highest priorities for all our personnel
Be the best, the benchmark of our industry
Treat employees as our most important resource; create an exceptional workplace community
Strive to achieve sustainable balance between financial, social, and environmental goals and responsibilities
Be a committed citizen; support public and community activities
Build an enduring organization of true leaders from top to bottom.
