MIAMI, May 16 /CSRwire/ - Companies Vs Climate Change (CvCC) is proud to announce that Zach Freeze of Walmart will be a keynote speaker at our Nov 29-Dec 1 event at the Hyatt Regency Miami. CvCC’s singular mission is to unite the world’s companies around climate solutions and it speaks volumes that a company such as Walmart has chosen this event to share their vision for this critical area.

“As the first retailer with a science-based target to reduce emissions, Walmart understands the importance of incorporating the utility of sustainable business practices in our business,” said Zach Freeze, Senior Director for Sustainability at Walmart. “The Companies vs. Climate Change Conference is a noteworthy initiative that signals continued support for progress on emission reductions and provides a forum for like-minded companies to collaborate on our sustainability goals.”
During his decade-long tenure at Walmart, Freeze has played an instrumental role in the development and rollout of Project Gigaton, an initiative that will provide an emissions reduction toolkit to a broad network of businesses seeking to eliminate one gigaton of emissions – the equivalent to taking more than 211 million passenger vehicles off of U.S. roads and highways for a year – by 2030.
“We are proud of the improvements we’ve made in reducing our own emissions and we seek to do more to inspire progress in our value chain. That’s why we’re working with our suppliers and others on Project Gigaton. Through the years, we’ve seen that integrating sustainable practices into our operations improves business performance, spurs technological innovation, inspires brand loyalty, and boosts employee engagement. Our suppliers recognize the opportunity to realize those same benefits in their businesses.”
Also keynoting will be Scott Perry, Chief Technology and Procurement Officer for Ryder.
