Total Quality Logistics, the second largest freight brokerage firm in North America, achieved a record-high participation rate of 75% in its 2016 annual employee giving campaign – its inaugural year using a new charitable giving software platform. Noting a strong desire to connect employees with the charities that are most meaningful to them, TQL selected Benevity’s award-winning workplace giving solution, Spark, to power the company’s TQL Cares program.

“Our people are our greatest asset," says Kerry Byrne, TQL president. "Giving back to the community is one way to keep them motivated and engaged. Moving our annual giving campaign to the Benevity platform gave them convenience and flexibility with their contributions and as a result, our participation reached an all-time high."

TQL looks for every opportunity to engage its highly valuable and socially aware workforce, 89% of whom are millennials. By opening the door to more causes and targeted content through Benevity, TQL is building on its culture of giving back on a much more comprehensive scale. Employees in all of the company’s 54 locations can now support their individual causes of choice – whether local, national or international – through a user-friendly online experience on any device while administrators can manage, track and receive automated reports, all through the Benevity platform.

"The switch to Benevity has built morale and loyalty,” says Corey Drushal, corporate giving specialist at TQL. “Our people loved seeing that they can give to the organizations and missions they are most passionate about, and that their employer was helping them do that. We have received fantastic feedback throughout our entire workforce."

“It’s encouraging to see companies like TQL recognizing the opportunity to infuse a sense of purpose and values into the relationships they have with their people,” said Bryan de Lottinville, founder and CEO of Benevity. “Simply put, if you give people the choice to support an organization that is close to their heart, it will have both a positive social and business impact.”
