Clean Earth, Inc., today released its 2016 – 2018 Sustainability Plan that is designed to nurture a culture of sustainability through its dedication to customers and employees, protection of natural resources, and growth adaptation. This three-year plan is prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s sustainability reporting guidelines.

Chris Dods, President & CEO states, “Our sustainability program is not about recycling aluminum cans; it is about creating and executing a plan to sustain the viability of our organization. Our plan has sixty-nine discrete action steps that support our four goals. These tasks range from implementing a wellness program, to implementing electronic pre-approval for third party transportation vendors, to adding one new facility to our network each year. Through execution of this plan we will have a roadmap for sustaining the growth and success of the company, which provides a platform to grow and nurture our people.”

Clean Earth’s Sustainability Plan includes four goals with short, mid and long-range targets. Metrics from the international standard in sustainability reporting, the Global Reporting Initiative, have been carefully chosen to reflect progress towards each goal. Routine reporting on the progress of Clean Earth’s sustainability goals ensures accountability and fosters efforts of continuous improvement. Clean Earth issues an annual report detailing the success, challenges, and progress in meeting the sustainability goals. Clean Earth’s 2015 Sustainability Report was released on August 2, 2016.

The four primary goals that shape the Clean Earth Sustainability Plan are:

  1. Help our clients meet their sustainability goals.

  2. Provide opportunities for our employees to thrive personally and professionally.

  3. Protect and conserve natural resources.

  4. Grow and adapt the organization to challenging economic, regulatory, and market conditions over the long-term.

These four primary goals encompass sixty-nine comprehensive action items lead by Clean Earth employees. This plan illustrates Clean Earth’s commitment to financial strength, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility, and also describes the stakeholder engagement process for aligning and communicating sustainability efforts.
