 Global Impact, whose mission is to build partnerships and resources for the world’s most vulnerable people, today announced the launch of a counterpart organization in the United Kingdom—Global Impact UK.

Global Impact UK's primary objective is to develop tax-free charitable giving options within the UK, and provide resources to an expanded alliance of international and local charities. The secondary objective is to support and build capacity for private sector and nonprofit organizations in order to grow their philanthropy and increase effectiveness.

“Leveraging global philanthropy will help UK charities and donors support causes, regions and crises throughout the world,” said Scott Jackson, President and CEO of Global Impact. “Building on Global Impact’s 60 years of experience in the United States, the organization will bring a unique blend of savvy and philanthropic skill to the UK market, but will establish itself as an independent, separately run non-profit.”

Global Impact UK is uniquely positioned to serve its intended objectives based on the convergence of a number of factors, including:

  • Increasingly significant role that the UK is playing within the global development and global philanthropy sector;

  • Significant number of corporate and nonprofit partners that Global Impact U.S. currently serves that have a strong presence in the UK; and,

  • Demonstrated need that multinational corporations and nongovernmental organizations have expressed for global solutions that can meet needs in both the UK and abroad.

The following Board of Trustees will guide the UK office toward a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure that Global Impact UK has adequate resources to advance its mission.

  • Sara Grote Cerrell, Founder, Global Change Network

  • Payal Dalal, Head, Global Community Programmes, Standard Chartered Bank

  • Michael Eggers, Senior Brand and Marketing Consultant

  • Scott Jackson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Global Impact US

  • Ann Canela, Vice President, Global Impact US
