Global Sustain presented the Yearbook 2015/16

Global Sustain proudly presented the 9thYearbook entitled “Sustainable Consumption and Production: Towards a Circular Economy”. The presentation took place on Thursday June 30th, at the “Excelixi” Conference Center, in the presence of business leaders and Global Sustain stakeholders.

This year's carbon neutral edition is in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and specifically with the Regional Activity Center for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC), Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP).

Mr. Michael Spanos, Managing Director, Global Sustain, welcomed the attendees and presented this year’s edition with reference to its articles and its contributors. 

Mr. Gaetano Leone, Coordinator, Mediterranean Action Plan - Barcelona Convention / UNEP, referred to the international framework on sustainable consumption and production, with particular reference to cooperation with Global Sustain and the Yearbook initiative.

During the event, other Yearbook participants presented their vision and experiences with the audience. More specifically, among speakers were: Mr. Philippe Sauer, Country President South-east Europe, Schneider Electric, Mr. Dionisis Ammolohitis, CEO, Manifest Services, Mr. Ioannis Kallias, CEO, TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS, Mr. Alex Athanassoulas, President & CEO, Stirixis Group, Dr Eric Soderquist, Associate Professor, Department of Management Science and Technology, Athens University of Economics and Business. Moreover, key findings of a special survey focused on circular economy in Greece, conducted by EY, were presented by Dr Markos Loukogiannakis, General Manager, SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development, Mrs. Kiara Konti, Manager, Climate Change and Sustainability Services, EY and Mr. Apostolos Vorras, partner of EY.

Other events will follow in Brussels, Berlin and Barcelona.
