Throughout the months of April and May, more than 100 National Grid employees will join local communities to beautify parks and clean-up areas in need of care across Massachusetts as part of Earth Day 2015.
“We're proud that so many of the cities and towns National Grid serves embrace sustainability,” said Marcy Reed, president of National Grid in Massachusetts. “From small projects - like tree planting and trash pickup - to our significant investments in renewable energy and efficiency, we're working to make a difference in the communities where we live and work on Earth Day and throughout the year.”
National Grid employee volunteers across the state will help with projects ranging from school tree planting to work on neighborhood farms. The company’s Earth Day volunteer events include:
Participating in Haverhill’s Trees for Tots Program at Walnut Square School in Haverhill from April 3-15
Pitching in on the Regional Environmental Council with the annual Earth Day Clean-up event in Worcester on April 18
Cleaning up Hillside Acre Animal Cemetery in Methuen on April 22
Planting vegetables at Waltham Fields Community Farm on April 29-30 and May 7
