Reduce clutter and waste with BlueAvocado™s family of re(zip) reusable storage bags.

Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's, a B Corp. and wholly-owned subsidiary of Unilever, joins the Board of Directors of BlueAvocado, a privately held B corp providing reusable consumer goods to meet needs of the fast growing conscious consumer segment. A pioneer in socially responsible business practices, Greenfield’s consumer products, retail, and marketing expertise will help accelerate the company’s growth focus on brand and distribution.  Greenfield joins celebrity designer Lauren Conrad and Bruce Barshop, President of Barshop Ventures, as a Series B investor accelerating BlueAvocado’s capture of the $200 B dollar green living home segment worldwide.

“Since it began, Ben & Jerry’s has tried to show how business can create value for communities and the environment as well as for shareholders,” said Jerry Greenfield.  “BlueAvocado is an inspirational consumer brand that can touch millions of lives with simple solutions that reduce waste and save precious natural resources.  I’m excited to play a leadership role in a B Corp, at an inflection point in the company’s growth.”

“Jerry is a fearless pioneer, and a hero to so many B corps like me, using business as a force for good,” said Amy George, CEO of BlueAvocado. “BlueAvocado’s has kept 198 million disposables out of landfills and oceans. With Jerry’s leadership, we hope to deliver 10x the impact in the next four years.”

BlueAvocado’s portfolio of products from reusable storage (re)zip® and lunch kits to reusable shopping and travel can be found at top retailers and boutiques throughout the US and Canada, including Bloomingdale’s, The Container Store, Amazon, buybuybaby, reuseit.com, Target and select Whole Foods. Started in Austin Texas in 2008, the company has maintained the vision of its founders, Melissa Nathan, Paige Davis and Amy George. The original vision of these three women was inspired by the then nascent movement to ban plastic bags and to raise consumer consciousness around disposable lifestyle to a more mindful, conscious focused on re-use. The company's first product was a reusable shopping kit that eliminated 1000 plastic bags from a customers' routine annually, and fit neatly in a car. Since inception, BlueAvocado's mission has been to create affordable, durable products backed by stylish and thoughtful designs. Every BlueAvocado product has an impact label showing the waste avoided or upcycled with each use. To inspire new market segments to reduce waste, the company continues to partner with top celebrity designers including Lauren Conrad and Ross Bennett.
