(Marketwired) Call2Recycle Canada, Inc. which operates one of the oldest and most successful stewardship programs in North America, has elected Daniel Hutter to its Board of Directors. Hutter, who currently serves as Division Vice President, Global EHS and Compliance Assurance for Spectrum Brands, was chosen for his industry expertise in product responsibility and environmental design. Spectrum Brands, a global consumer products company with market-leading brands including Rayovac®, has served on the Call2Recycle Canada Board of Directors for the past four years.

"His expertise will help us continue to implement our business plan to help grow options for battery recycling in Canada while implementing programs that exceed the most rigorous recycling standards in the world for the safe recycling and management of batteries." 

Hutter brings nearly 16 years of experience in corporate responsibility and sustainability to the Board. Prior to joining Spectrum Brands, he led enterprise supply chain risk, compliance, and environmental standards activities for Kohl's. 

As a member of the Board, Hutter will be involved in shaping the overall strategic direction and advising growth strategies for the Call2Recycle Canada program. Call2Recycle Canada is already the preferred battery recycling program for the Canadian federal government, and many major retailers, along with status as the approved battery recycling program in British Columbia, Manitoba and Quebec.
