NEW YORK, Jun. 11 /CSRwire/ - The Eco Laundry Company announced today that it plans to launch a sustainable B Corporation franchise BLab logomodel this year. The U.S.-based program, to be developed with support from the newly hired iFranchise Group, will make the socially and environmentally conscious laundry service available to an even wider market.

As the world’s first certified B Corporation laundry business, The Eco Laundry Company acts as a vehicle for positive action against climate change. Franchisees will be required to individually achieve B Certification, in addition to running a mandatory sustainable business unit. Moreover, each Eco Laundry Company franchise will have to run on renewable energy and use exclusively environmentally-friendly and sustainable products.

The Eco Laundry Company Founder and CEO Phillipe Christodoulou says:

“Protecting the integrity of our company’s fundamental mission throughout its franchise network is a critical step in helping to push forward a sustainable economy. The B Corporation certification process will encourage our franchise network to embrace sustainability as an essential value proposition and demonstrate how it works to strengthen their business model.

“Ultimately, Eco Laundry Company Franchisees will become powerful ambassadors for sustainability, educating their own stakeholders from customers to suppliers, resulting in a stronger network of business-minded sustainability entrepreneurs as well as an increasingly sympathetic marketplace,” adds Christodoulou’s business partner and co-owner of The Eco Laundry Company, Jean Calleja

The first franchise units will be released for sale in the New York Metro area towards the end of this year.
