The Eco Laundry Company announced today that it plans to launch a sustainable B Corporation franchise model this year. The U.S.-based program, to be developed with support from the newly hired iFranchise Group, will make the socially and environmentally conscious laundry service available to an even wider market. 

As the world’s first certified B Corporation laundry business, The Eco Laundry Company acts as a vehicle for positive action against climate change. Franchisees will be required to individually achieve B Certification, in addition to running a mandatory sustainable business unit. Moreover, each Eco Laundry Company franchise will have to run on renewable energy and use exclusively environmentally-friendly and sustainable products.

The first franchise units will be released for sale in the New York Metro area towards the end of this year.
