CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 18 /CSRwire/ - Charlotte based, humanitarian organization, Samaritan’s Feet to expedite shipment of shoes to the Philippines.
The terrible events that struck the Philippines in recent days have left the area in devastation and everyone in shock! Since Monday night, the international team at Samaritan’s Feet has been diligently coordinating with all available partners throughout the world to expedite two containers of shoes immediately to the Philippines. There are nine additional containers that have been donated to Samaritan’s Feet totaling 250,000 pairs, but there were no funds in the budget for this shipment. The entire staff decided to allocate this shipment to the relief effort and have launched an awareness and donation campaign to raise the needed funds to ship them.
Manny Ohonme, Founder of Samaritan’s Feet , explained the campaign like this “We’ve seen the needs of these children firsthand over the last couple of years through our partnership with the Joint Task Force – Pacific Command in Manila and other relief and missions agencies who have partnered with Samaritan’s Feet to distribute shoes with the “Happy Feet” Program. We can’t fix all the problems, but with the help and support from generous individuals, we can get up to 250,000 pairs of shoes to the victims in the Philippines by the end of the year.”
