The Aspen Institute is pleased to announce an exceptional $5 million gift from the Resnick Family Foundation, led by Institute Trustee Lynda Resnick and her husband, Stewart, to the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN). Their extraordinary support provided critical resources that made it possible to hold the first annual Aspen Action Leaders Forum this week, a convening of 350 AGLN Fellows and other change-makers from more than 30 countries. Many of these Fellows were able to travel to and attend the conference thanks to scholarships from the AGLN endowment.

“Lynda’s and Stewart’s generosity allowed us to convene our Fellows in a setting where they could innovate and move ideas into real action,” said Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson. “They are to be commended for their vision and commitment to making our world a better place.”

“Stewart and I are inspired by these leaders and the mark they are leaving in their communities around the world,” said Institute Trustee Lynda Resnick. “We loved the idea of supporting a flagship summer event here in Aspen where these leaders could connect with one another, share ideas and turn inspiration into action.”

This $5 million gift is part of the Institute’s $75 million Scholars & Scholarships Campaign, the main priority of which is the Aspen Global Leadership Network. The Network is a growing, worldwide community of entrepreneurial leaders from business, government, and the nonprofit sector – currently, more than 1,600 "Fellows" from 46 countries – who share a commitment to enlightened leadership and to using their extraordinary creativity, energy and resources to tackle the foremost societal challenges of our time. The Action Forum, held on July 29-August 1, 2013, has been designed to connect these Fellows with other action-oriented leaders from Aspen Institute programs and partners.
