BASF was named Supplier of the Year for extraordinary performance in the areas of Sustainability and Diversity Supplier Development by Chrysler Group LLC.

The Sustainability award recognizes BASF’s long-term commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability and for being a leader throughout the industry. In addition, the award acknowledges BASF for actively mentoring and coaching other companies in sustainability, and incorporating corporate responsibility throughout their processes and products.

The Diversity Supplier Development award recognizes BASF for exceeding the 2012 diversity goal and ending with a “green” status two years in a row. In addition, BASF was commended for hosting annual minority/women business enterprise events with an established strategy of purposeful inclusion.

Award recipients were determined based on an evaluation of each company’s External Balanced Scorecard performance in 2012 – a rating system that evaluates supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, cost, warranty and partnership – coupled with input and agreement from Chrysler Group senior leadership.

Goerck and Charlene Wall-Warren, Sustainability Director for BASF in North America accepted the awards on behalf of BASF during Chrysler’s 2013 Annual Strategy Meeting and Supplier Awards Ceremony in Auburn Hills, MI. Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group Chairman and CEO, served as the keynote speaker, and thanked attendees for the role they played in the company’s journey.
