The world’s leading provider of water related news, OOSKAnews, announced today the launch of a new database and search engine. aquaNOW.info, the World’s Water Data engine, will allow water professionals to access the world’s most substantive database of water-related news. The new database empowers users to search through over 300,000 tagged data points across 26,000 water news articles compiled from around the world.

aquaNOW is a water-risk and water-opportunity decision support tool. Users can search the database by using a map-based interface delivering detailed results at watershed, country and local levels. aquaNOW also permits topic-driven search in over 25 subject areas including corporate risk, environment, health, energy and food security, regulation and transnational issues.

“Since 2006, our 150 water journalists in more than 70 countries have assembled this valuable news database,” said David Duncan, OOSKAnews’ CEO. “We are proud to bring this valuable tool to help organizations who are working on the world’s different water challenges.”

Building on the leading news found in the robust library of OOSKAnews, aquaNOW has been designed to meet the diverse water intelligence needs of senior professionals in public policy, investment and finance, the water industry, corporate risk and academia. The database was created in collaboration with Global Water Challenge and the U.S. Water Partnership.

“We are delighted to support the launch of aquaNOW. Our mission is to help promote water security around the world and this tool offers unprecedented access to water intelligence,” said Monica Ellis, CEO of Global Environment & Technology Foundation, the organization that supports Global Water Challenge and the U.S. Water Partnership.
