Sonny Masero, former CA Technologies VP of Energy & Sustainability Management Solutions has joined the board at Ecodesk as Global Head of Sales & Business Development, the latest high level recruit as part of the company’s global expansion plan.

Masero, who spent over three years at independent enterprise software vendor CA Technologies, working within the award winning global management team, will drive Ecodesk’s business development and sales strategy. At CA, he led the Energy & Sustainability business unit in EMEA working with customers from around the globe, to deliver enterprise solutions for corporate energy and sustainability management.

Ecodesk, which counts GlaxoSmithKline, Eurostar, ISS and CA Technologies as customers, currently has over 111,000 profiles on the site and is in the process of helping customers reach out to over one million suppliers to encourage them to measure and report sustainability data online. Ecodesk recently appointed former Halcrow Sustainability Manager and UN / EU consultant Dr Nick Murry as its CSO, Paul Creamer as CTO and Marc Ambasna-Jones as Director of Communications, to ensure that Ecodesk customers derive maximum value from using the Ecodesk platform to engage with their supply chain on sustainability.

As part of its rapid expansion plan Ecodesk is also looking to set-up offices and recruit senior executives in the US and in Asia, as well as extend its own Bath, UK HQ account handling and technical support teams.

“This is a new chapter in the evolution of Ecodesk as we now look to the US and Asia to help accelerate our goal to create a global, open and accessible platform for business sustainability data,” said Robert Clarke, CEO Ecodesk. “Sonny’s appointment is strategic for Ecodesk. He not only brings a depth of commercial sustainability knowledge to the business but also a fantastic energy to drive it forward, across all regions. Together with the recent appointments of Nick, Paul and Marc, Sonny’s arrival has added considerable clout to our strategic thinking, product offering and future direction.”

Sonny Masero said on his appointment: “Joining Ecodesk at such an important stage in its development offers an opportunity to use the Ecodesk technology to make a significant impact on how supply chain sustainability performance is managed and improved. I have the opportunity to work with customers who are setting the standard for corporate sustainability, as well as suppliers who really want to make a difference for their customers by innovating and delivering high performance in the supply chain. At the nexus of corporate governance, cost efficiency, sustainability, social Media and Big Data, Ecodesk has a differentiated approach that allows us to create real value for customers large and small.”
