VIANOVA, a premier boutique management consulting and coaching firm, announced today that it has been re-certified as a B Corporation, marking the third time the company has achieved B Corp certification since 2008. Certified B Corporations are recognized by the independent nonprofit B Lab for meeting rigorous standards of transparency, sustainability, and social responsibility.
“It’s truly an honor to be re-certified as a B Corp” said Frank Scarpaci, VIANOVA Founder and Principal. “It’s validating to know that there are people out there, like B Lab, and our fellow B Corps, who recognize as we do, that businesses have the power to create a better world.”
Certified B Corporations are companies that are working to harness the power of business to create positive social change and meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
“Progressive businesses understand that they have a responsibility to create value, not only for their shareholders, but for their employees and the community at-large,” added Scarpaci. “Our clients are making a difference in people’s lives, and that’s what motivates us. When that happens, everyone benefits.”
A firm believer that businesses can “do well by doing good”, the VIANOVA team has over 20 years experience creating and leading social purpose and cause partnership initiatives for companies and nonprofits.
Founded in 2005, VIANOVA (www.thevianovagroup.com) is a boutique management consulting and coaching firm specializing in business, project, and event planning services. The firm helps entrepreneurs, companies and nonprofits create a better world thorough business.
About B Corporations
Certified B Corporations 1) meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance; 2) legally expand their corporate responsibilities to include consideration of stakeholder interests; and 3) build collective voice through the power of the unifying B Corporation brand. As of May 2012, there are over 600 Certified B Corporations from over 60 industries, representing a diverse multi-billion marketplace.
About B Lab
B Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Lab drives systemic change through three interrelated initiatives: 1) building a community of Certified B Corporations to make it easier for all of us to tell the difference between “good companies” and just good marketing; 2) accelerating the growth of the impact investing asset class through use of B Lab’s GIIRS impact rating system by institutional investors; and 3) promoting supportive public policies, including creation of a new corporate form and tax, procurement, and investment incentives for sustainable business.
