Companies are trying a variety of innovative approaches to help their employees reduce stress levels and relax. Many companies have instituted in-office Yoga or massage. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier in the month, AOL Digital Media head Arianna Huffington even spoke about having nap rooms installed at her NY HQ; although she noted that sometimes she sees two employees leave the room at the same time.

Also at CES this year Deepak Chopra, MD, the health and wellness, mind/body/spirit  balance expert and best selling author introduced a new product called the Dream Weaver. This electronic device automatically brings the user to the same meditative state it takes experienced meditators years to achieve although Dr. Chopra insists it is no substitute for meditation and true transcendence.

The device consists of a set of goggles with 16 LEDs facing in. A meditation or relaxation program is placed on a CD over the music and sound track at 19.2KHz, a frequency humans cannot hear, which controls the LEDs in the goggles. The user experiences this program with eyes closed. There are no subliminal messages involved.

Deepak notes that “Almost every culture in the world has a method to get people to an altered state whether it is Hindu Meditation & Kirtan, Gregorian Chanting, Hebrew Davening, Tibetan Prayer Bowls, Native American Drum Circles and Chants, Sufi Chants, Whirling Dervishes and African Trance Dancing. Psychedelic drugs such as peyote, ayahuaska, and LSD are also used to help people to go into an altered state in the direction of transcendence. Put on the Dream Weaver goggles and see what happens. I'm sure you will experience something very relaxing, very dreamlike and possibly put you to sleep as well."

The device and 3 program disks with 9 programs ranging from 6 minutes to one hour is available at www.DeepakChopra.com/DreamWeaver

Consider  having one for your company’s break room, meditation space or sanctuary.
