Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has been named to the Global 100 list of the world’s most sustainable corporations. In preparing the Global 100 list, media and investment research company Corporate Knights evaluated approximately 4,000 mid- and large-cap stocks based on publicly available information covering resource, employee and financial management.

Motorola Solutions is ranked No. 59 on the Global 100 and is one of only 10 U.S. companies to earn a spot on the list this year.

KEY FACTS ON THE GLOBAL 100

  • Recognized as the world’s most credible corporate sustainability ranking, the Global 100 drew companies from 22 countries on six continents.
  • In aggregate, the Global 100 had revenues of $3 trillion (roughly 4.5 percent of global GDP) and a workforce of nearly 5.3 million in 2011.
  • The Global 100 uses a two-step methodology based on 2011 data. First, companies were screened according to their sustainability disclosure practices, financial health, product types and recent legal payouts. Remaining companies were then scored, relative to their same-sector peers, on a set of key performance indicators (KPIs). A different suite of KPIs was used for companies in each industry, depending on recent reporting trends in each industry group.
