ARLINGTON, Virg., Jan. 23 /CSRwire/ - Counterpart International announced today it has been accepted as a partner in the Global Impact Charity Alliance, a group of more than 70 U.S.-based international relief and development organizations.

“Counterpart and Global Impact share a commitment to empowering people living in vulnerable communities to create their own solutions for achieving sustainable development,” says Counterpart President and CEO Joan Parker. “We are proud to be included on the list of distinguished international organizations that are partnering with Global Impact.”

Established in 1956, Global Impact raises funds to meet critical humanitarian needs around the world; it then provides those funds to partner charities. In 2012, Global Impact mobilized more than $108 million for its partners, and has raised more than $1.5 billion since inception.

Global Impact provides companies, foundations and individuals with effective ways to donate to causes, regions and crises. It also administers two of the world’s largest workplace giving campaigns—the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area and the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas. www.charity.org
