Counterpart International announced today it has been accepted as a partner in the Global Impact Charity Alliance, a group of more than 70 U.S.-based international relief and development organizations.

“Counterpart and Global Impact share a commitment to empowering people living in vulnerable communities to create their own solutions for achieving sustainable development,” says Counterpart President and CEO Joan Parker. “We are proud to be included on the list of distinguished international organizations that are partnering with Global Impact.”

Established in 1956, Global Impact raises funds to meet critical humanitarian needs around the world; it then provides those funds to partner charities. In 2012, Global Impact mobilized more than $108 million for its partners, and has raised more than $1.5 billion since inception.

Global Impact provides companies, foundations and individuals with effective ways to donate to causes, regions and crises. It also administers two of the world’s largest workplace giving campaigns—the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area and the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas. www.charity.org

To be approved for partnership in Global Impact’s alliance, Counterpart demonstrated program effectiveness, fiscal integrity and donor accountability, as well as an enduring commitment to international humanitarian service. www.Counterpart.org

“Counterpart International has demonstrated a commitment to those in need, as well as their donors,” says Global Impact CEO Scott Jackson. “Global Impact is proud to work with an organization that has such zeal for their work and a focus on integrity.”

Counterpart International

Counterpart International is a global nonprofit with programs in more than 25 countries. For partners, both private and public, we provide capacity building to local partners to improve program results and corporate social responsibility investments. For CSR leaders committed to supporting the achievement of Agenda 2030, Counterpart’s current programs involve 15 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with most of our programs addressing multiple SDGs. Our programs are built upon successful collaborations with both civil society and government partners.

Our work is multi-sectoral and grounded in the belief that local partners are best able to solve local problems. In 2015, we launched the Social Sector Accelerator, a member of the Counterpart Network, and a separate business unit that works with clients to ensure a strong return on social investments. For 50 years, Counterpart has been helping people improve their lives and build more durable futures, community by community.
