(Marketwire) - GOJO Industries has been recognized as a Green Giving Corporation by Matthew 25: Ministries for its outstanding corporate environmental and social well-being initiatives. The company has donated millions of pounds of soap and PURELL® Instant Hand Sanitizer to humanitarian aid efforts in the United States and around the world. As a result, GOJO earned the Green Giving Partner Seal from Matthew 25: Ministries. According to the charitable organization, the seal identifies GOJO as a "corporate partner that makes multiple donations per year, makes significant donations based on company size and capacity, is committed to minimizing corporate waste and shows outstanding environmental and social sustainability initiatives in repurposing excess product for humanitarian work."

GOJO has been contributing soap and PURELL hand sanitizer to Cincinnati-based Matthew 25: Ministries to assist with global relief efforts for more than three years. The organizations share a commitment to social well-being, according to GOJO Environmental Specialist Toni Stutler. "Matthew 25: Ministries is an ideal opportunity to advance the GOJO Purpose of Saving Lives and Making Life Better Through Well-Being Solutions," said Stutler.

GOJO Environmental Manager Sunshine Scherer manages operational efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle, and sees great value in the partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries. "Working with Matthew 25 has helped GOJO divert 1.3 million pounds of product this year from landfills, including pallets sent to help victims of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast," said Scherer. "The ministry is an excellent choice for organizations to consider as an outlet for surplus materials and products that are slightly damaged or close to expiration."

Mike Schulte, manager of corporate programs for Matthew 25: Ministries, works with GOJO to distribute its donations. "We congratulate GOJO on the enormous impact their social well-being initiatives have on people and the environment. It's good to work with a company that cares so much, and provides products that make a difference," said Schulte. "GOJO is a very important part of our processing activities. One group of volunteers has even come up with a song about the company."

GOJO also donates hand hygiene products to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Second Harvest of Toronto, Food Banks Canada and Summit Missions International as part of its social well-being initiatives.
