Tuesday, December 11, 2012 brings together women leaders who are transforming the financial markets through social innovation, entrepreneurship, collaborative investment and crowdfunding platforms for a conference called, Women Transforming Our Financial Markets Symposium.” The event will feature the leaders in the emerging market of equity crowdfunding for start-ups and small-to-medium sized enterprises. Panel discussions will highlight new financial innovation, legislation, opportunities, and growth strategies for female entrepreneurs and investors since the passage of the “Jumpstart our Business Start-ups Act” (JOBS Act).

The conference is hosted by NowStreet, an innovative “private company marketplace” resource, under the direction of new markets pioneer Dara Albright. Dara is a former investment banker with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and one of the leading experts on the JOBS Act and emerging equity-crowdfunding platforms. She has gathered together an A-list of women entrepreneurs, economists, financial advisors, angel investors, and venture capitalists leading the charge behind the growing private company financial industry.

The conference features the latest information and tools for raising capital and scaling women-owned businesses from RocketHub, EarlyShares, Launcht, SoMoLend and more. Special presentations from women's leadership experts include Good Business New York (good-b) Founder/CEO Monika Mitchell, world renowned eco-economist Hazel Henderson, Locavesting author Amy Cortese, and social entrepreneur Diana Ayton-Shenker.
