(Marketwire) - As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (http://business.toshiba.com), is again looking to makeover five non-profit organizations. Toshiba Helping the Helpers Technology Makeover officially launches Oct. 27 to coincide with USA WEEKEND's Make a Difference Day. The national technology makeover contest held by Irvine, Calif.-based Toshiba America Business Solutions started in 2011 and awarded more than $200,000 in technology upgrades to non-profit charities with a valid 501(c)3 status.

"Our first Toshiba Helping the Helpers contest resulted in nearly 150 U.S. non-profit charities entering a 2-minute video to the Toshiba For Good Facebook page. Toshiba is repeating the contest to award socially responsible non-profit companies making a positive impact in their communities or the world," said Bill Melo, vice president of marketing, services & solutions at Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. "It is our mission to makeover five worthy organizations, and with support from our Facebook fans, select one exceptional organization to receive the ultimate gift of technology from Toshiba to help them become more successful and effective in their cause."

The selected organizations will receive a donation of Toshiba products and services including new e-STUDIO multifunction printers, all-in-one desktop computers, Protégé® laptops, LED HDTVs, CAMILEO® camcorders, Excite™ tablets, a Toshiba Business telephone system and even energy-saving LED light bulbs to help them reduce costs, streamline operations and conserve resources.

Call for entries for Toshiba Helping the Helpers opens Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. PST where organizations with a valid 501(c)3 status will be invited to submit a 2-minute or less video to the Toshiba For Good CSR Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ToshibaForGood) describing their unique mission and goals, and how they would benefit from a technology makeover. Toshiba will post video entries and announce five selected organizations to receive a prize package worth up to $31,000, all via Facebook. The five selected videos will then be posted for fans to vote for the grand prize winner. The grand prize winner will receive a combined package worth up to $102,000 that includes various new technology from Toshiba, as well as an award-winning Encompass™ Analysis to help uncover hidden cost savings opportunities. Additional details, entry rules and prize information will be available on the Toshiba For Good Facebook page.

Toshiba Helping the Helpers campaign brings together Toshiba companies operating in the United States, which include Toshiba America Business Solutions, Toshiba America Information Systems, Toshiba America Electronic Components, Toshiba International Corporation and other corporate partners to offer products, services and support for the campaign.
