MILWAUKEE, Sep. 17 /CSRwire/ - Johnson Controls, a global diversified company in the building and automotive industries, today announced its inclusion on both the World and North America Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) for 2012.
This is the eighth consecutive year Johnson Controls has been named to both DJSI indexes. DJSI works in partnership with SAM, an investment boutique focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing that tracks the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. Johnson Controls is the only North American company under the Automobiles and Parts category named to the prestigious World Index, and only one of two companies in that category named to the North America Index.
The annual DJSI review is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, climate strategy, environmental policy/management systems, supply chain standards and labor practices.
“We are honored to continue to be recognized by SAM through these sustainability indexes for our longstanding commitment to sustainability," said Charles Harvey, vice president, diversity and public affairs for Johnson Controls. “Throughout our 127-year history, we have remained committed to delivering shareholder value in ways that foster social and environmental responsibility.”
