This October 2 – 3rd at the Cipriani Event Center on Wall Street in New York, Future 500 and Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine are set to host the 2012 Right Left UnConvention one month before a national election. The Right Left UnConvention is building a bridge between academic, activist, corporate, and political leaders from the Right and the Left for open discussion on controversial issues our country faces.

It features four panel sessions with one of the most provocative panels covering the issue of Crony Capitalism in the U.S.  This panel includes many well-recognized conservative and liberal political and corporate figureheads including Reagan’s Former Budget Director, David Stockman who believes strongly that cronyism has overtaken our U.S. economy.

In a recent interview by Alex Delay, Casey Research’s Chief Technology Investment Strategist, David Stockman states, “You can't have capitalism if the capital markets are dead”.  This remark is just one of many that Stockman has made in regards to his belief about where our economy is heading.

The panel on crony capitalism will be particularly dynamic and will revolve around the 2008 finance crisis, the role of free markets, and how to reduce cronyism in the economy generally.  The panel includes CEO Emeritus of Freddy Mac Ed Haldeman, President Ronald Reagan’s one-time Budget Director David Stockman, Author of A Capitalism for the People Luigi Zingales, President of the Government Accountability Institute Peter Schweizer, Former Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union and current Member of the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board Anna Burger, and American Banker & Senior Fellow at the Aspen Institute Susan Ochs.

  • Keynoted by David Stockman, President Reagan's Budget Director, CEO Emeritus
  • Peter Schweizer, President, Government Accountability Institute
  • Luigi Zingales, Professor, University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Author
  • C. Ed Haldeman, CEO Emeritus, Freddie Mac & Former President, CEO, & Chairman Putnam Investments
  • Anna Burger, Former Secretary-Treasurer, Service Employees International Union, Member of the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board
  • Susan Ochs, Author, American Banker & Senior Fellow at the Aspen Institute
