GRI Joins Roster of Acclaimed Speakers at Sustainability Forum 2012

EuroCharity is pleased to announce that Ms. Elina Sviklina, Manager of Report Services, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), has been added to the roster of international speakers and experts who will share their hands-on expertise with the delegates of the multi-stakeholder Sustainability Forum 2012 in Athens on October 5.

Co-organised by EuroCharity and AIT (Athens Information Technology), the Sustainability Forum 2012 is a unique, training, networking and professional development event aims at reinforcing sustainability, providing hands-on experience, practical knowledge and professional skills through 12 specialised workshops.

These workshops will focus on issues such as the core principles of sustainability, green ICT, the creation of a sustainability strategy, sustainability reporting assurance, calculating and offsetting CO2 emissions, waste management, sustainability and social media, and many more.

Ms. Sviklina’s speech, entitled "The Future of Sustainability Reporting," will focus on the developments of the GRI G4 Guidelines, integrated reporting and tools that can help companies in the reporting process (software, Sustainability Disclosure Database, data collection and analyses, etc.).

Other confirmed workshop tutors include Mr. Derwin Johnson, a U.S.-based independent senior communication consultant with more than 30 years of experience as a journalist, communication executive and educator, and Dr. Annie Pearce, an Associate Professor in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech.

Mr. Johnson’s workshop, entitled "CSR Communications: The Bottom Line," will explore international best practices for CSR strategic communication initiatives and introduce a media relations tool kit. He will focus on CSR strategic communications CSR media tool kit, international best practices and practical exercise.

Dr. Annie Pearce’s course, entitled "Sustainable Capital Projects: Overcoming the First Cost Barrier," will focus on understanding sustainability in terms of today's economic language, introducing methods for incorporating a broader range of considerations into economics-driven project decision making, identifying and evaluating economic impacts and risks of sustainability in capital projects, and finding creative opportunities to overcome the first cost barrier to sustainability.
