The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) today announced the appointment of a new board of directors chairman and two additional board members. The new board members are:
"Every year the fields of corporate responsibility and public-private partnerships are rapidly evolving, and our board of directors is evolving to keep pace," said U.S. Chamber BCLC founder and executive director Stephen Jordan. "BCLC's volunteer leadership team for the 2012-2013 term brings a diverse array of talents and perspectives to the challenges that we face, and they are a huge asset for the organization. We greatly appreciate their willingness to serve."
Martella succeeds immediate past board chairman Akhtar Badshah, Microsoft Corporation’s senior director of community affairs. Badshah will remain active on the BCLC board of directors as a board member.
“Companies are at a pivotal moment in defining how responsibility manifests in the relationships they have with communities, clients, consumers and their workforce,” said Martella. “I look forward to serving as BCLC’s board chairman and help driving awareness of the role of business in society and responsibility in high performing corporations.”
