2012 VolunteerMatch Client Summit

VolunteerMatch, the Web’s largest volunteer engagement network, will host more than a hundred corporate social responsibility (CSR) and volunteer engagement experts and practitioners at its annual Client Summit in San Francisco, May 17-18, 2012.

This year’s theme of “Bridging CSR Communities” acknowledges the unique approaches companies have for CSR and volunteer engagement programs, and brings them together to share insights that will strengthen each of these individual CSR communities. The invitation-only event features topics such as building a purpose-driven business culture, measuring ROI and social impact in CSR programs, harnessing social media to advance employee volunteering and CSR efforts, corporate-nonprofit partnership strategies and using storytelling to more effectively communicate impact for executive buy-in.

Summit highlights include:

  • Tips from Carol Cone, Global Vice Chair of Edelman Business + Social Purpose, on how to create a corporate culture energized through citizenship and community involvement
  • Breaking down the barriers to active engagement from social good experts from Global Giving, Network for Good and VolunteerMatch – a panel led by Karen Baker, California’s Secretary of Service & Volunteering
  • Resource sharing and best practices from professionals in the VolunteerMatch community of more than 150 network partners
  • Presentation of the 2012 VolunteerMatch Corporate Volunteer Awards.  Last year’s award recipients included Los Alamos National Laboratory (Employee Volunteer Program of the Year – Large Company), Hagerty Insurance (Employee Volunteer Program of the Year – Small-Medium Size Company), Discovery Communications (Breakout Performance) and team members from Union Bank (Champions of the Year).

Generous supporters of the 2012 VolunteerMatch Client Summit include Gap Inc., Charles Schwab and 3BL Media.
