Cascade Engineering’s Cascade Consulting Group and The SOURCE (www.grsource.org) will offer a one-day conference in Grand Rapids, Mich. titled, “Developing a Private, Public, and Non-Profit Collaborative – Exploring Leading Practices:  The Cascade Engineering Welfare to Career and SOURCE Models.”  Attendees of the May 3 event will have the opportunity to learn from both organizations’ experience in assembling successful community collaboratives – involving business, government and non-profit partners – that can provide significant benefits to employers, employees and the community as a whole.

Cascade Engineering will focus on its nationally recognized “Welfare to Career” program, while The SOURCE will share how it is helping to reduce employee turnover by utilizing the best resources of private employers, the public sector and area non-profits.  The agenda will include:

  • CEO and state agency panel discussions and Q&A sessions
  • Highlights from the implementation of similar models in Denver and Seattle
  • Practical guidance from national speakers who have successfully developed community collaboratives
  • Attendee networking

The complete event agenda is available at http://cascadeconference.eventbrite.com/.

“A key focus of our event is to provide CEOs and other employer representatives a venue for sharing their perspectives on the merits and challenges of developing these models locally,” said Kelley Losey, Director of Cascade Consulting Group.   “Human resources practitioners will also be available to discuss how this approach can complement a strategic workforce development initiative.  The conference will be a unique opportunity to explore proven models for building a stronger business and stronger community.”

The conference will include two optional free events that attendees can select during the registration process. On May 2, the event organizers will host an evening networking opportunity including appetizers and a cash bar.  Attendees are also invited to participate in a tour of The SOURCE at the conclusion of the conference.

The conference will be held on Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Crowne Plaza in Grand Rapids. For room reservations, please call (616) 957-1770. Organizations interested in attending or learning more are invited to visit www.cascadeng.com/csg, or to contact Kelley Losey at (616) 516-1451 or Kelley.losey@cascadeng.com.
