Senior Sustainability Analyst for Calvert Investments, Aditi Mohapatra, was presented with the “Rising Star Award” by the New York Women’s Agenda, at their annual STAR Breakfast, today, Tuesday, December 6^th at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Ms. Mohapatra was recognized for her efforts to advance women in the workplace.

“I am honored to receive this award and thank the New York Women’s Agenda for this recognition. While we should all celebrate the strides women have made, we must also acknowledge that much remains to be done. We must continue to push for equality and fairness in the workplace so that the contributions of women are equally valued and recognized,” said Ms. Mohapatra.

As Senior Sustainability Analyst for Calvert, Ms. Mohapatra has engaged numerous companies and policy makers on issues affecting women and minorities in the workplace. Ms. Mohapatra has led Calvert’s efforts to promote gender equality and boardroom diversity. In October 2010, she was the lead author of a report titled “Examining the Cracks in the Ceiling” focusing on how well women and minority employees were faring within companies held in the Standard & Poor’s 100 Index. Ms. Mohapatra has also been a strong advocate for boardroom diversity and has had successful dialogues with dozens of companies on the addition of women and minorities to corporate boardrooms.

Ms. Mohapatra has worked closely on other corporate diversity issues including promoting the implementation and adoption of the Calvert Women’s Principles®, the first global code of corporate conduct focused on empowering, advancing and investing in women worldwide. As part of these efforts, she was instrumental in assisting the City of San Francisco’s Department on the Status of Women in launching the Gender Equality Principles Initiative, an effort engaging San Francisco area companies on advancing women in the workplace.
