The Bainbridge Graduate Institute, a pioneer in offering Sustainable MBA and certificate programs will offer a joint exchange program with the School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) in India. Both schools have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an exchange program including students, but also encouraging collaboration of faculty and ideas.

“This mutually beneficial exchange program will provide opportunities for BGI students to understand the impact of triple-bottom line at a global level,” stated BGI Dean John Gardner PhD. “One can’t deny the truly global economy we witness each day. Environmental, social, and policy changes now occur within a complex dynamic reaching around the world. Working with SOIL is an important step for BGI to link with a key geography of the 21st century global community.”

BGI students will be hosted by SOIL for a six-week visit with a focus on classroom courses coupled with visits to the school’s industry consortium and non-profit organization partners.  SOIL students will attend courses at BGI, and have experiences with private and public sector firms across Puget Sound. The exchange visit will also include faculty exchange and a joint research program.

Additionally, SOIL signed MOU agreements for similar programs with the Politecnico di Milano School of Management in Italy and the University of New Brunswick in Saint John, Canada.  SOIL is a business school that provides holistic education that builds inspired leaders by enabling people to know who they are, recognize their purpose and realize their full potential, and to build organizations of consequence.

The Bainbridge Graduate Institute was the first school to offer an MBA in Sustainable business. Founded in 2002, BGI offers evening and weekend MBA and Certificate programs that thoroughly integrate environmental and social responsibility into every subject of the traditional core business curriculum. BGI works to help other business schools become more sustainable.

BGI was born when co-Founder and President, Gifford Pinchot, a renowned business consultant, realized the nation's graduate business schools were churning out one-dimensional MBA graduates with solid short-term profit-maximization skills, but lacking a deep understanding of how to integrate social and environmental issues into business decisions.

The Institute's pioneering MBA and certificate programs prepare a diverse group of leaders to build enterprises that are economically successful, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. The innovative curriculum preserves the rigor of a traditional MBA program, while infusing sustainability - including both environmental and social responsibility - throughout every course.
