Jackrabbit Design, a full-service web and graphic design studio, announced today their “Carrots for a Cause” contest, the firm’s first pro-bono initiative aimed to help one Massachusetts nonprofit organization reach a larger audience by developing a new corporate website valued up to $50,000. The competition will be open from September 1st through September 30th. The winner will be announced on October 10th.

Qualifying submissions to “Carrots for a Cause” will need to relay the organization’s mission, the organizations role within the community, as well as indicate how a new website might help to elevate the organization’s presence and impact the local community. Organizations will also have an opportunity to submit a photo or video to help visually depict their mission and work.

“While there is no denying that a well designed website can help significantly increase brand exposure for nonprofits, resources at these organizations are often spread extremely thin and management usually spends the majority of their time, efforts and money attending to the day-to-day operations and immediate business needs,” said David Belyea of Jackrabbit Design. “We have tremendous experience helping nonprofits build their online community by creating a platform that can be extremely useful when relaying both fundraising activities and volunteering opportunities —as well as grabbing the attention of potential donors. We are excited to help an organization in the Massachusetts area and look forward to selecting the much deserved recipient.”

On October 3, 2011, Jackrabbit will post the top 10 entries to the company’s website and Facebook page giving fans the opportunity to vote on the most deserving nonprofit organization as the winner. Voting will be open to the public until October 9, 2011. A winner will be announced on October 10, 2011 on the Jackrabbit website and the winning charity will be notified via email. Those wishing to enter the contest may submit entries at www.jumpingjackrabbit.com/carrotsforacause/.
