Dolphin Blue, Inc., an online retailer of green office supplies, all made in the USA, is proud to announce its certification as a B Corporation™. The announcement follows nearly 20 years of green retail experience in providing consumers with post-consumer recycled products.

Certified B Corporations use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. All companies obtaining a B Corp certification must pass a rigorous assessment by the non-profit B Lab group to determine the organizational impact on stakeholders. Currently, there are only eight B Corps in Texas, and Dolphin Blue is one of two in the DFW metroplex.

In just over three years, B Corporations have grown to more than 400 in number from 50 industries, representing $1.5 billion in collective revenues and $6.5 billion in capital under management. Long term, B Lab anticipates the certification will lead to a legally recognized corporate structure. Thus far, four states have passed legislation supporting B Corps: Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, and Vermont.

Dolphin Blue's status as a B Corp follows a year of prosperity for the Dallas-based organization. Despite the economic downturn, recorded sales for the 2010-2011 fiscal year for the green office products supplier were the highest to date. In addition, Dolphin Blue was one of three companies in the country selected by American Express OPEN (NYSE: AXP) to participate in the Victory in Procurement (VIP) Mentorship Program, helping small businesses increase their sales through Federal government contracting.
