Compass Partners (http://compasspartners.org), the Washington, D.C.-based education non-profit, has announced the creation of a new national social entrepreneurship conference, Shift Series (http://shiftseries.com) to take place in D.C. this April 1-2.

Through its selective two-year Fellowship program, Compass empowers university students to develop social ventures that have a real, positive impact on the world. Compass Fellows operate ventures including a Qatar-oriented impact investment group, an accessory line for smart, fashionable women, and a "solar bank" that supports alternative energy initiatives while saving low-income families money on their energy bills. All together, the Compass Fellowship is a growing community of over 100 student social entrepreneurs across five universities nationwide.

Shift Series will bring together these brilliant student entrepreneurs along with over 200 professionals for two days of keynotes and workshops centered on the question: "How can we prepare the world today to address tomorrow's social problems?" Over 20 industry leaders have been invited to speak on a wide range of topics, including keynotes Jim Clifton, CEO of Gallup; Morgan O'Brien, Founder of Nextel Communications; and Joe Sibilia, CEO of CSRwire.

For additional information about how to register for Shift Series or for general information about the conference, please visit http://shiftseries.com or e-mail contact@shiftseries.com. Registration is now open to the public at $250 per ticket with special Session Tickets available to those who cannot attend the entire conference.
