The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) today announced its 2010 Global Corporate Citizenship report entitled, "Frontier Markets. Global Partnerships. Local Solutions." The report highlights case studies of how the private sector, in partnership with NGOs, public sector entities, and multilateral institutions, addresses some of the world's most serious challenges in the water, food security, economic development, and health sectors.

"The private sector has dramatically increased its participation in international development solutions," said Chamber BCLC global corporate citizenship manager, Taryn Bird. "In 2010, we saw a great deal of innovation and partnership models that showcased how business can utilize core skill sets to tackle complicated issues. We only expect this trend to increase in 2011."

This new report builds on the work of the Chamber BCLC's Global Corporate Citizenship program, which focuses on facilitating dialogue and collaboration among practitioners in the international development arena.

"It's important to understand what has worked and what has not," continued Bird. "This report reduces redundancy and creates transparency in the international development arena by sharing case studies from the private sector and their partners."
