/PRNewswire/ - AT&T* today announced it will celebrate its ongoing support for Associacao Alianca de Misericordia during the Brazil Grand Prix by placing the organization's logo on the AT&T Williams race cars.

The logo will be placed on the headrest of the AT&T Williams FW 32 cars with the wording 'Presented by AT&T.' The presence of the Brazilian charity organization's logo provides the charity with an opportunity to raise awareness of its efforts during the race weekend, one of the highest profile events held in Brazil. More than 168,000 visitors are expected to attend the Interlagos circuit, and the event attracts a worldwide television audience of approximately 154 million people.

"We are honored to have this opportunity to highlight our organization at such important sporting event," says Ana Beatriz Hauptmann, Institutional Development coordinator, Associacao Alianca de Misericordia. "AT&T in Brazil has been a great supporter and has made important contributions to help children in need."

Associacao Alianca de Misericordia provides assistance across 37 cities in Brazil to those who are socially excluded, through programs, projects and activities to help them reintegrate to society. AT&T volunteers have supported Associacao Alianca de Misericordia for many years. In 2009, more than 90 AT&T employees delivered more than 400 hours of volunteer work to help in the coordination and implementation of the organization's events, working to prepare material gifts for the sheltered children and sharing their time for various activities with the children.

AT&T is also featuring Guilherme de Mello Sousa of Associacao Alianca de Misericordia in the AT&T Williams '60 seconds with...' online interview series, which profiles everything from his/her favorite Grand Prix to the work challenges keeping his/her team awake at night.

"Associacao Alianca de Misericordia makes an important contribution to our local community and we are proud to continue to support their work with sheltered children," said Eduardo Farinelli, South America Sales Center Vice President of AT&T Business Solutions. "We hope that by exposing their logo in front of millions of people it will help the organization obtain more support and get the recognition it deserves for their good cause."

AT&T is the title sponsor of the AT&T Williams team, and provides the team with a full suite of advanced IP-based communications solutions including a virtual private network that enables highly secure and reliable communications from the race track to the team's headquarters and other key locations.

The team recently installed the AT&T Telepresence Solution℠ at their UK headquarters and a unique mobile unit in the team's motorhome. The deployment of the AT&T Telepresence Solution provides the team with a fully managed, immersive high definition video conferencing service with the sensation of a "face-to-face" meeting.

The initiative with Associacao Alianca de Misericordia is part of a global program by AT&T to recognize charities it supports around the world. Already this year, in May, the French based organization Telecoms Sans Frontieres (TSF) was recognized at the Monaco Grand Prix. In addition, visibility was provided to leading charities Centraide of Greater Montreal at the Canadian Grand Prix in June, Prince's Trust at the British Grand Prix in July and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund at the Singapore Grand Prix in September.
