Dr. Curtis J. Crawford recognized for lifetime achievement

ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) congratulates the longest-serving member of its board of directors, Dr. Curtis J. Crawford, for being named a winner of the National Association of Corporate Directors' (NACD) 2010 "Director of the Year" awards. Dr. Crawford, an ITT director since 1996, was selected as the B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award honoree as a result of his decades of exemplary leadership, mentorship and influence in corporate boardrooms.
Dr. Crawford's career as a board member has been marked by his attention to board process above and beyond requirements, his willingness to mentor others and his high ethical standards for leadership.

In addition to serving on ITT's board of directors, Dr. Crawford is a director of ON Semiconductor and E.I. du Pont de Nemours and is a Trustee of DePaul University. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of ON Semiconductor, Chairman, President and CEO of Zilog, President, CEO and Director of Onix Microsystems and Chairman of the Board of ISTAT.
For more than two decades, the NACD Director of the Year awards have recognized distinguished individual directors who serve as role models in promoting exemplary board leadership, oversight excellence and courage in the boardroom.
NACD Director of the Year winners are nominated by peers, including board members who belong to NACD. Nominees were evaluated by an independent selection committee according to their proven ability to strengthen board leadership in ways that align with the NACD "Key Agreed Principles," consisting of leading practices in areas including risk oversight, corporate strategy, compensation and transparency.
