Limited-edition EuroCharity Yearbook 2010 to focus on responsible investing

Published 10-06-10

Submitted by Global Sustain Limited (Ltd.)

Following three consecutive years of publishing success, EuroCharity today announced the theme of its fourth annual album: EuroCharity Yearbook 2010 - "The Future of Responsible Investing."

EuroCharity, the reference point for Corporate Social Responsibility and the Green Economy (www.eurocharity.eu / www.eurocharity.gr/en), is now in the process of inviting a select number of companies, organisations, captains of industry, experts, researchers and personalities to participate in its Yearbook 2010.

Published in English, the EuroCharity Yearbook 2010 will be distributed to A) the companies and organisations featured in the album (which usually distribute the book to their own stakeholders), B) the special guest writers of the book, and C) a specific distribution channel of key stakeholders throughout Europe, pre-selected by EuroCharity. This distribution network includes but will not be limited to: sustainable, responsible and ethical asset managers and fund managers, family offices, investors, analysts, researchers, financial institutions, sustainability indices, leading business schools, specific business forums, industry and trade associations, governmental agencies, ministries, the European Commission, Parliament and Council, related non-governmental organisations, etc.

The limited-edition EuroCharity Yearbook 2010 will feature:

  1. Corporate presentations, best practices, case studies, CEO messages and success stories of 20 (mainly publicly-listed) responsible companies, financial institutions and multinationals. Each featured firm will be able to showcase their responsible business practices, investments, products or services, development model, strategy, vision, CEO message, etc. along with photographs and visuals.

  2. Messages and articles by a select group of responsible financiers, investors, asset managers and fund managers.

  3. Messages by a select group of invited political leaders, Commissioners, MEPs, decision-makers and policy formers.

  4. Articles by special guest writers including academia, Nobel Prize laureates, journalists, publishers and experts.

  5. The latest research of leading specialists and analysts.

The first three EuroCharity Yearbook albums were titled and focused on:

  • "The Spirit of the Forest" (2007) on Greece's catastrophic wildfires and how the corporate world responded to this huge environmental and social crisis through positive action, volunteerism, corporate philanthropy, fundraising campaigns, tree planting initiatives and hands-on assistance;

  • "Prassein Elloga - Sustainability & Green Development - Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation" (2008) on the emerging green economy in Greece and the impact, challenges and opportunities of green development;

  • "It's a matter of culture..." (2009) on the importance of corporate culture (and not only).

Special guest writers of previous EuroCharity Yearbook albums have included: Greek Prime Minister George A. Papandreou, former European Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas, President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Ministers, Members of Parliament, University Professors, prefects, publishers, journalists, ambassadors, etc.

The EuroCharity Yearbook 2010 is anticipated to be released at the end of June 2011 and will be presented at a special, invitation-only launch event in Athens. The deadline for submission of expression of interest has been set for November 30, 2010.

Mr. Peter Michel Heilmann, President, EuroCharity, commented on the announcement of the title and theme of the EuroCharity Yearbook 2010: "The chosen theme for our fourth album -- 'The Future of Responsible Investing' -- could not have better timed.

"What is responsible investing precisely? How will it shape our future? Which companies are investing responsibly, why and with what criteria and results? What case studies and success stories do leading publicly-listed companies, but also non-listed firms, have to share with their stakeholders? How do responsible investments differ from each other? Who are the major players, the leaders in the field and the visionary CEOs walking the walk, rather than talking the talk? What is the latest research related to responsible investing? These questions and numerous other issues will be highlighted in depth in the EuroCharity Yearbook 2010, in addition to corporate presentations, research, messages, articles, analysis, viewpoints and a rich variety of quotes, visuals, photographs and useful links.

We are therefore extremely excited that this year's EuroCharity Yearbook will be published in English and distributed to an impressive, targeted list of key stakeholders throughout Europe and beyond, to EuroCharity's members as well as at specific events, targeted exhibitions and related conferences.

Apart from inviting EuroCharity's growing family of members to participate, we also warmly welcome non-EuroCharity members and organisations to be featured in this unique publication - on a first-come, first-served basis."

If you or your company wish(es) to be prominently featured in or submit an original article or recent research report for inclusion in the EuroCharity Yearbook 2010, please contact Mr. George Tsiakalakis in Athens on +30 210 747 5847 or at george.tsiakalakis@eurocharity.org.
