With 10 days to go, Carbon TradeEx America is poised to become the largest North American gathering for the environmental markets (REC, Carbon, So2, Nox, CMD, CCS).

The speaker line up will consist of more than 110 senior level speakers conducting 25 thought-provoking sessions. The opening day keynote will be delivered by Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, the opening day will end with a keynote speech by Dr. Richard L. Sandor, Chicago Climate Exchange, Inc., Chairman & Founder, while the closing address will be provided by Sam Napolitano, Director, Clean Air Markets Division of the EPA.

The three conference tracks will connect the dots between climate, energy, business strategy, risk management and economic policies at domestic and international levels. One of the program highlights is the session titled "Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire - Pending EPA Regulation of Stationary Sources" - the panel will discuss the absence of a current Federal Cap-and-Trade legislation, the expected time line until major stationary sources will be regulated in 2011 and the role of local governments in enforcing legislation. The session will focus on opportunities for new projects, major expansions and how the NGO community is anticipated to navigate through a regulatory landscape in the future. This session will be moderated by Richard M. Saines, Baker & McKenzie LLP. The Panel will consist of Douglas P. Scott, Director of Illinois EPA - Katherine Blue, Principal at Trinity Consultants Climate Change Services - and Steve Corneli, Senior VP at NRG Energy, Market and Climate Policy.

Another highlight will be the opening party "A Night at the Museum" on September 28th from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Chicago Field Museum. This exciting event will allow for high level networking while viewing the museum's current "Climate Change Exhibit." Charges are $25 for conference attendees and $42.50 for walk ins.

True to its mission, Carbon TradeEx America will reduce its own carbon footprint by providing recyclable bottles and by eliminating the use of paper by providing the program proceedings on a mobile networking platform.
