Earthdance International is launching the largest synchronized dance and prayer for peace event in the world - now in its 14th year - taking place at 4 pm PST on 9/18/10 in over 50 nations. Event organizers can still register private parties and individuals can sign up to participate in the Prayer for Peace at www.earthdance.org. Each public Earthdance event commits to donate at least 50% of their profits to a local charity for peace, sustainability, or social justice. In coordination with this year's event date, Earthdance has launched several new initiatives to promote international collaboration and open exchange - including the Earthdance Global Film Jam and the Earthdance Peace Watch 2.0.

The multi-location event, held in alignment with the United Nations International Day of Peace, gathers musicians, DJs, artists, speakers, and participants at hundreds of events across the globe, plus tens of thousands more online, in support of global peace, sustainable culture and humanitarian aims. Addressing this year's theme Embracing All Traditions, each event will focus on recognizing and honoring the diversity of faiths and cultures that make up our human family. Ranging from 200 to 10,000 attendees, events are slated for Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saint Kitts, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States, and Zambia. For a complete list of 2010 event location, see: Earthdance.org/locations.

Live streams from several locations will be available on both the United Nations Peace Day Global Broadcast on Peaceday.tv, and Earthdance.tv. Plus, this year Earthdance is inviting independent media-makers, event producers and attendees to participate in the Earthdance Global Film Jam, a collaborative film project in partnership with Michael Beckwith's Agape Media International and the Citizen Global web-based video production platform involving Earthdance participants worldwide.

Earthdance unites conscious entertainment and social action, benefitting local non-profits worldwide and transcending cultural barriers in fostering global cooperation. The Dalai Lama told Earthdance founder Chris Deckker: "I think global events are a really hopeful sign. When something happens on one side of the planet, it naturally affects the other side. After all, we all share the same blue planet." Impacting local change on a global scale, Earthdance events are known in every region for their social consciousness, sustainable event production, and spirited music and art. Since the first Earthdance multi-location event in 1997, hundreds of charities worldwide have benefitted from proceeds and media exposure.

Called "the most conscious global festival of our time" by Time Out Magazine, Earthdance has been a pioneer in what is now a growing movement of collaborative global events ranging from Earth Day to Burning Man to 350.org's 10-10-10. From business to activism, from music to meditation, Earthdance continues to set the standard for international collaborations and multi-location events that unite people and groups sharing a common goal of peaceful evolution.

Timed for the week's annual event, Earthdance is releasing a new and improved version of the Earthdance Peace Watch - originally conceived by Earthdance Global LLC CEO Matthew Marshall, with a vision to extend the annual synchronized Prayer for Peace into a daily meditation practice. Earthdance's Peace Watch 2.0, which can be added to any web page, blog or social network, sets two meditation times each day, indicated by the violet dot that adjusts for different time zones. The new version includes alert tones created by sound designer and sound healing expert, Alex Theory, plus a Message of Peace feature that displays messages submitted by users to the Peace Watch Twitter site. The new Peace Watch is also available in branded versions for organizations interested in making it available to their communities. For complete information visit www.earthdancepeacewatch.com.

General information, event locations and registration for event producers and participants in the Prayer for Peace can be found on the Earthdance website at www.earthdance.org. The gathering continues year-round on http://www.earthdancenetwork.com, a social networking and media platform designed to serve a rapidly growing international community of individuals joined for peace and sustainability.
